Apple will not allow downloading from outside the App Store

Apple launched the App Store in 2008 to provide apps and games for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Since then barrage does not allow downloading any apps or games from outside the store.

Why does Apple do that? It may not take your expertise and technical know-how to know that this is for security reasons in the first and last place.

Systems, Windows, Mac and even Android product allows the user to download programs and applications from outside the official store (Sideloading) without problems.

Apple vice president of software Craig Federighi commented on this in his speech at the Web Summit 2021, saying that side-loading apps from outside the App Store are the best thing cybercriminals wish for.

Apple: no uploads from outside the App Store!

Apple is now facing public and government pressure to allow users to download apps and games from outside the App Store.

Proponents say that would break Apple's monopoly and dominance over developers and allow developers more freedom to develop their apps as they see fit, away from Apple's vision and store rules that it imposes on everyone.

Apple's objection is mainly about security reasons, and Apple's vice president for software Affairs Craig Federighi stated that Apple's failure to allow side-loading is what makes iOS more secure than competing systems, noting that Android is exposed to more than 5 million cyberattacks per month.

Craig added that even expert users can fall victim to misleading websites and fake apps as well as less experienced and younger users.

At the government level, the European Commission – the EU's executive body – is currently discussing a digital market law that could force Apple to allow users to download apps from outside the App Store.

Apple's primary motivation may be to take full control of the apps and games available for iPhone and iPad as they charge a commission on profits of up to 30%.

Apple originally allows the software to be downloaded on its Mac macOS without causing any digital disasters or uncontrollable scams!!
