The first iPhone with USB-C port is available for purchase

Last month, a robotics engineering student from Switzerland converted the iPhone's charging port from a traditional Lightning port to USB C in a first of its kind.

Robotics engineering student Kim Bellonel converted his iPhone X into a USB C port to be able to charge and transfer data through this new port, and it worked after months of trial and error.

Now, Kim has put up his iPhone X, which he modified to a USB C port, on eBay for sale by auction, and its price has so far reached nearly $5,000 at the time of writing, and the price is subject to increase.

Through this, Kim aspires to obtain the most significant possible financial return from his design of the first iPhone model that charges and transfers data successfully and efficiently through the USB C port, even if it is an unofficial version of Apple.

The phone offered for purchase is a black iPhone X 64GB with a box of investment and without any other accessories.

If you want to see how the device arrived in its current final form, Kim the owner of the device has posted a full guide on his YouTube channel detailing the entire procedure and how it was carried out.

The student's motive to convert the iPhone to a USB C port is primarily personal because he waited for this step for years from Apple, and it has not been achieved so far, as he put it.

Now, all iPhone phones work with their distinctive lightning port. Apple is facing public pressure and officially at the level of governments and official authorities to move to USB C.

The European Commission - the executive body of the European Union - is now preparing a bill to make Apple officially rely on the USB C port in iPhone phones to standardize charging ports in smart devices for environmental reasons and e-waste.
